This dog, I consider to be a prime example of a true, well -bred, well -built European Working Doberman. Dobermans are to be tenaciously loyal and very devoted to their person or family. They are self- confident and exhibit strength, stamina and extreme intelligence. Dobes are ridiculously easy to train, often picking up and remembering new commands within a half dozen repetitions. Dobermans are generally reserved but friendly and they love to work, so much so that without a job, they can become destructive.
Matador has spent his entire life at my side and unless forced, he rarely leaves it. Extended separation causes him distress as he knows his job is to shadow me. This is not separation anxiety, rather an example of the extreme loyalty expected from this breed. He is always alert and always watching me or my surroundings. His actions are his own, but often dictated by my silent indications or permissions.
He knows dozens of commands, some being complete sentences. He has taught himself many little things simply by watching what I do. He will happily, and often over exuberantly greet a stranger and I am certain, would put one on the ground if he felt I was in trouble. He has physically pushed me away from sketchy people on multiple occasions.
Matador is raw fed and has been his entire life. He has no skin issues, no allergies, clean back teeth and no gas issues.
My boy is big. Really big. He stands 30 inches at the shoulder and hovers around 115 pounds. This is a bit over standard. Some people claim the larger European Dobermans are hyper-types and should not be bred. This does not apply here. Matador is not a hyper -type.
He has a clean tight head and face and muscular neck that are in proportion to the rest of his body, strong straight balanced legs, heavy bone, tight cat feet and a correctly formed chest. His body conformation is square, measuring the same from withers to floor as point of chest to point of hip. His depth of chest matches his length of leg. This is what both the FCI and AKC standards call for.
He is muscular, strong, smart and proud. Matador is the kind of personal guardian anyone would be blessed to have looking after them.

Ursula Angel & Demon CGC Tkn
Ursula weighs in around 75 pounds and is a slick little missile. She's very fast and very agile.
This girl loves to run!
Ursula is a highly food driven dog, which makes training and working her a breeze. She spent time at the local dog club as a youngster and it really helped with her focus. In that time I discovered she loves to work. LOVES to work.
If asked, she will be at my feet in a second waiting for a command. If I send her away, she'll go lay down and watch, all the time waiting for her next job.
Ursula is not much on attention from strangers but is completely stable working in a crowd with people and other dogs. Ursula is also stable around large livestock, but she is prey driven and the smalls are fair game! She has been taught to leave the house cat be and she does.
Ursula has an excellent recall and has from early on. She is high on the dog intelligence scale and understood what I was asking in two repetitions. Ursula was never much for bitework, but this girl is spot on for obedience, tracking and hunt tasks.
She is a stellar vermin dog.
She is completely safe and reliable left alone in the house all day, in a crate or in a car. She has never tore up my belongings when left unsupervised. She never fought me one single time during her year of ear posting and doesn't care when I trim her nails. This girl knows how to behave!
As much as she likes to work, she is equally content to climb into the Man's lap and settle in for extended cuddling, as it is him she truly loves. She also smiles on command, but only for him.
Ursula has proven herself to be a fine mother and a worthwhile contribution to the extended Doberman bloodlines.
As her instinct brain has begun to descend from the puppy cloud, I realized I had forgotten how focused she was. As soon as I am able, she will be back to the training yard to finish her half completed Rally title and move on to more advanced levels.
