Angora Goat
Angora goat hair is really called mohair.
Angoras are a medium-small breed of goat that originated in Turkey.
White was the original color and is the only color accepted by commercial mohair buyers, but now they can be found in all natural colors, and spotted too! High quality, naturally colored mohair is highly sought after by hand spinners.
Mohair is a very shimmery fiber with little or no lanolin. It grows in curls and is sheared twice a year. Mohair readily accepts dye while maintaining it's shimmer and can be easily combined with other fibers.
